Sophie Adenot and Arnaud Prost, the two French astronauts recently selected by the European Space Agency (ESA) were in Toulouse on March 9th and 10th to rediscover some of the most iconic spots associated with the European space industry. The visit was jointly organized by the ESA and the French Air and Space Force. They first visited the CNES in Toulouse and ISAE SUPAERO, the engineering school from which both astronauts graduated before stopping the next day at Airbus Defence and Space. Between the two, they visited the Cité de l’espace. A conference was organized for the occasion, in the presence of the two new ESA astronauts (career for Sophie Adenot and reserve for Arnaud Prost) along with Claudie Haigneré, astronaut, former minister and godmother of the Cité de l’espace, Didier Schmitt, Head of Strategy and Coordination of manned flights of the ESA and Lionel Suchet, Deputy Director General of the CNES, who accompanied them during their Toulouse stay.

For an hour, the five distinguished guests shared with the audience the ambitions of the European Space Agency, its exploration program and the selection and coming involvement of the 17 new European astronauts revealed on November 23rd in Paris and especially of the two French astronauts. The captivating meeting fascinated the public.
