Since the start of the year, the National Center for Space Studies (CNES) and the Cité de l’espace have joined forces to offer all new visits of the Toulouse CNES infrastructures. Designed for groups (companies, associations, students…), this visit co-created with CNES teams tells the story of space as close as possible to those who are making it happen every day. Once a month, up to four groups of 18 people have the privilege of immersing themselves in this leading center for space adventure. Guided by a facilitator from the Cité de l’espace, the groups will discover over the course of a two and a half hour visit different areas of the CNES which till now have been exclusively reserved for a very limited public (CNES employees, guests, officials…).
The tour includes the main control room from which satellite launches are operated as well as CADMOS from which operations and experiments on the ISS (International Space Station) are monitored live, with the possibility of watching exchanges between astronauts and operators. This exceptional tour also includes COSPAS-SARSAT, the rescue service for people in distress. The CNES visit can be included in a day package which also includes a visit of the Cité de l’espace, a meeting or seminar, and catered meals.
More information is available on the Cité de l’espace website.
