Catherine Lambert re-elected president of the Club Galaxie

The Club Galaxie re-elected Catherine Lambert, the current president of the CERFACS (the European Center for Research and Advanced Training in Scientific Calculation), to head the organization for another four years. Interview.
What is your view of your first mandate?
The Club benefited from the regional space sector’s strong dynamic. This was reflected in a rise in member numbers, more diversified profiles, and the growing footprint of our events. Notably the Prix Galaxie gained visibility. We have also reinforced our commitment to youth and promoting diversity, through the creation of a Youth & Diversity commission.
What will be the key areas of your work during this new mandate?
We will continue our efforts to forge links between our members, to promote and grow the space sector dynamic and to drive common actions. We also intend to continue to expand our representation of the regional space ecosystem, notably by strengthening our impact in Montpellier with the arrival of a director from that region. Finally, we will relaunch tours and an Environment commission will be created.
What does the link with the Cité de l’espace represent?
The Cité de l’espace is our totem site. It embodies the spread of space culture and Toulouse’s footprint in this field. We hold all of our events here: luncheons, evenings, and the Prix Galaxie ceremony. It structures our networking and helps strengthen exchanges between members.
