On November 7th, the Cité de l’espace and its partner Kinéis launched a unique drawing contest for children and teenagers (age limit 17 years old). The drawings must deal with topics related to space and the Earth and especially the role of satellites in better understanding and protecting our planet. The deadline to send drawings is December 25th. The jury will deliver its decision in January 2023. The 15 winning drawings will then be micro-engraved on metal plates and sent into space by Kinéis in September 2023 on board the first European constellation of 25 nanosatellites dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT). The drawing contest is right in line with the commitment of the Cité de l’espace, shared by Kinéis, to raising the awareness of the public about the space sector and helping the public learn about space sector applications to protect the environment.
