On May 23, the Cité de l’espace hosted the 16th Scientific Children’s Congress. Over 360 pupils from the Academy of Toulouse presented their lunar base projects, built by pairs of 5th and 6th grade pupils, in the presence of the new Rector, Karim Benmiloud. He listened to a discussion with a class then declared the event officially open.
Hosted by Antoine Alouani (an engineer in space propulsion, Airbus Defence and Space) and Lucie Poulet (researcher, specialist in bio-astronautics and life support systems, Université Clermont-Auvergne), this ESERO label event reached more than 530 pupils in all, in the Metropolitan area, overseas and abroad. A remote session is scheduled on June 6th with classes from Saint-Malo, Guyana, and Lithuania. This national and international outlook is in line with the commitment to expanding the reach of the event in coming years.
