During its traditional month of closure, the Cité de l’espace updated a part of its area known as the Launch Center in the permanent exhibitions. With the continuous aim of staying in tune with the latest developments in space, this update introduces two very current themes: space environment and New Space. The first area offers a focus on the issue of space debris and includes a new interactive feature developed by the Cité de l’espace and CNES. Named «Orbital dance,» it invites visitors to use their bodies to move a satellite and avoid debris in orbit. The second area, dedicated to New Space, explores the rise of private companies in the space sector, innovations in miniaturization, and satellite constellations. To enrich this section, the Cité de l’espace worked in partnership with its three New Space partners: COMAT, HEMERIA, and KINEIS. Also notable is an update to the clean room within the Launch Center, whose contents have been revised to enhance accessibility.
